Die Galerie Hohenthal Und Bergen aus Berlin zeigt auf der SCOPE Basel Art Show 2010 die eindrucksvollen Arbeiten des australischen Künstlers Andrew Rogers. Er ist einer der bedeutendsten und international anerkannten zeitgenössischen Bildhauer mit Ausstellungen weltweit. Seine renommierten Exponate findet man in zahlreichen privaten und öffentlichen Sammlungen in Australien, Südostasien, dem Mittleren Osten, Europa und den Vereinigten Staaten von Amerika. Bei Hohenthal Und Bergen sind auf der SCOPE Basel Art Show 2010 neben Skulpturen aus der Werkgruppe "From Optimism to Hope" Fotografien seines Projekts "Rhythms of Life" zu sehen.


Andrew Rogers begann 1998 mit "Rhythms of Life". Es ist das weltweit größte zeitgenössische "Land Art" Projekt.

From June 17 until September 7, 2008 the 16th BIENNALE OF SYDNEY, entitled REVOLUTIONS - FORMS THAT TURN takes place. The BIENNALE OF SYDNEY is Australia's largest and most exciting visual arts event. The free exhibition is expected to welcome more than a quarter of a million visitors, and more than 180 artists will participate - with over fifty newly created artworks presented alongside some of the world's most ground-breaking art from the avant-gardes of last century. The artistic Director of the 2008 BIENNALE OF SYDNEY is Carolyn Christov-Bakargiev.

The theme of the 16th BIENNALE OF SYDNEY, Revolutions - Forms That Turn, suggests the impulse to revolt, a desire for change, and seeing the world differently.

Last Friday night the winners of 2008 Australian International Design Awards, Award for Excellence in Sustainable Design and the Australian Design Award - Dyson Student Award have been announced. Flaik, an Australian-designed snow-sports performance tracking device has taken out the top prize in this year's Australian International Design Awards. While the Slide Connect G2 Emergency Exit Sign, co-designed by Formwerx Product Design Consultants and Bluesky Design Group for Legrand Australia, won the Award for Excellence in Sustainable Design. And a Compact Crutch walking aid designed by the South Australian student Michael Ng has taken Gold in the 2008 Australian Design Award - Dyson Student Award.

Object Gallery and Melbourne Museum present a groundbreaking exhibition of contemporary Australian design. Freestyle: new Australian design for living will overview Australia's best and freshest design by 40 outstanding designers from the fields of furniture, lighting, textiles, home-wares, fashion, jewellery and accessories. The exhibition aims to reveal the character, vibrancy and increasing maturity of contemporary Australian design. Do you ever wonder what the next big thing in design will be? What are the best emerging ideas and trends? Well, Object's annual graduate exhibition, Design Now!, is a chance to be one step ahead of the crowd. The group of 18 finalists shown at Object Gallery in Sydney, Australia, from 5 April until 15 June 2008 represent the best and freshest upcoming designers in Australia, selected from over 120 nominees from 21 universities.

Emerging designers from across the country compete with fellow students to exhibit their work in Design Now!. Since 2001 Object has organised and presented its annual Design Now! exhibition (previously titled new design), showcasing the work and nurturing the careers of almost 100 graduates from 14 universities over the past seven years. As Australia's only touring exhibition of student design, the exhibition provides a fantastic launching pad for young designers.
